The Software Development Engineer’s primary task is to assist and develop during various stages of a project including requirements gathering, documentation, design, and testing phases.

This is an extremely challenging role that demands strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications
• 4+ years of web-based software development experience
• 3+ years of Java programming skills
• Excellent object oriented analysis and design skills (OOA/OOD)
• Proficiency in other languages (e.g. C++, Perl, JavaScript, and so on) a plus
• Experience working with relational databases (Oracle and JDBC/Hibernate) is a plus
• Experience with XML (DTD, Schema, XSLT, Native XML databases) is a plus
• Experience with workflow frameworks and concepts is a plus.
• Experience writing code in a high volume, Service Oriented Architectures (SOA)
• Familiarity with frameworks such as Spring, Hibernate, Ruby on Rails is a plus
• Ability to work in a fast paced and agile development environment
• Experience designing high-performance, scalable architectures
• Understanding of system and application performance limits and characteristics
• Excellent problem solving skills
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
• B.S. in Computer Science or a related field

Responsibilities:
• Working with business representatives to define requirements and developing technical specifications
• Mentor other Software Development Engineers in coding and debugging issues.
• Communicating effectively to ensure that all business requirements are being assessed and addressed to ensure development projects meet or exceed performance targets.
• Support day-to-day functional maintenance of the content ingestion platform.
• Participate in all activities accordingly to ensure on time deliverables are met including day-to-day planning and coordination with testers, developers, project managers and business representatives
• Drive full life cycle product development
• A self-starter and drive tasks to completion
• Strong written and oral presentation skills
• Collaborate with business owners to solidify requirements and create measurable shopping experiences

Job Overview:
- Responsible for analyzing and reconciling detailed general ledger accounts as assigned.
- Review source documents and records transactions.
- Maintain & monitor account balances and posts write-ups and journals
- Prepare account reconciliations and analysis.
- Participate and contribute to monthly close process
- Researches and resolves discrepancies and accounting errors.
- Completes accounting functions within established policies, procedures and deadlines.
- Prepares related ad hoc reports, summaries and records.
- Performs related clerical duties as required including, but not limited to miscellaneous filing, sorting of checks, journals, etc. and maintaining of reports and files.

Essential Functions and Basic Duties:
- Assumes responsibility for the accurate and timely completion of assigned accounting functions.
- Reviews source documents and records daily transactions. Balances and posts write-ups and journals.
- Posts a number of transactions to the appropriate general ledger account.
- Reconciles general ledger accounts as assigned.
- Performs miscellaneous filing/sorting of checks, journals, daily write-ups, etc.
- Completes required records and reports and maintains files.
- Completes accounting functions in accordance with established policies, procedures and deadlines.
- Assumes responsibility for effectively researching, tracking, and resolving accounting problems and discrepancies.
- Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective communication and coordination with other departments and with management.
- Maintains regular contact with other departments to obtain information and/or to correct transactions.
- Adheres to company policies including confidentiality and unauthorized use of company assets.
- Keeps management informed of area activities and of any significant problems.
- Attends and participates in meetings as required.
- Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned.
- Ensures that work area is clean, secure, and well maintained.
- Completes special projects as assigned.

Skills/Experience Requirements:
- Minimum two to three years of previous accounting experience preferred.
- Knowledge of basic accounting concepts and procedures including account reconciliation.
- Knowledge of related computer applications.
- Knowledge of NetSuite accounting application a plus.
- Well organized and detail oriented.
- Good attention to detail and accuracy.
- Cooperative and willing to assist others/team player.
- Able to use PC, calculator, and other basic business machines.
- College degree preferred
