<p>Job Description</p>
<p>Audible (www.audible.com), a wholly owned subsidiary of Amazon.com, is leading provider of spoken digital audio programming &#8211; including books of any genre, magazines, radio shows, daily newspapers and more.</p>
<p>The Sr. Manager, Editorial &amp; Publisher Relations will be a key player in Audible’s major expansion of audio rights acquisition and audiobook production and publishing. The Senior Manager will be a lead editorial voice, both outward-facing (publishers, agents, authors) and inward-facing (Marketing and Merchandising), and will also act as liaison with the Content Creation and Metadata Teams. The Senior Manager will be the primary point of contact for multiple content partners.</p>
<p>Responsibilities include:</p>
<ul>
<li>Audio Rights Licensing
<ul>
<li>In partnership with Deal Team, act as lead editorial voice in pitching and signing large publishing (“D2D”) deals with agents/authors and publishers</li>
<li>Publisher Relations
<ul>
<li>Respond to and trouble-shoot inquiries from D2D and existing content partners</li>
<li>Review quarterly royalty statements for accuracy</li>
<li>Production &amp; Promotion
<ul>
<li>Manage and prioritize D2D titles from publishing partners, including hand-off to Metadata and Content Creation teams for audio production</li>
<li>Work with Merchandising and Marketing Teams to identify and promote high-potential D2D titles</li>

<p>Basic Qualifications</p>
<p>Requirements:</p>
<p>    Bachelor’s Degree<br />
    Minimum 5 years in publishing-related field<br />
    Basic computer literacy, including Excel, Word + other standard applications<br />
    Good written and oral communications skills<br />
    Good organizational skills</p>
<p>Preferred Qualifications</p>
<p>    Ability to work as a member of a team and take direction</p>

As a member of the team you will have the opportunity to help build Audible’s Mobile Products.</p>

<p>This is an extremely challenging role that demands strong technical leadership, analytical and problem-solving skills.</p>
<p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Working with business representatives to define requirements and developing technical specifications</li>
<li>Architecting software solutions, determine current limitations and compatibilities between subsystems, selection of new concepts and methodology, development of major routines and utilities</li>
<li>Communicating effectively to ensure that all business requirements are being assessed and addressed to ensure development projects meet or exceed performance targets</li>
<li>Participating in all activities accordingly to ensure on time deliverables are met including day-to-day planning and coordination with testers, developers, project managers and business representatives</li>
<li>Driving full life cycle product development</li>
<li>Collaborating with business owners to solidify requirements</li>
<li>Instilling best practices for software development and documentation and assuring designs meet requirements, deliver high quality work on tight schedules</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Qualifications:</strong><strong></strong></p>
<ul>
<li>3+ years Safari and Web development experience with a demonstrable online website / application portfolio</li>
<li>Additional skills include iPhone, J2ME, RIM, WinCE, Symbian, and Android development experience</li>
<li>Mac/Cocoa, Core Java, C/C++ and audio and video development experience a plus</li>
<li>BS or MS preferred in Computer Science plus  5+ years industry experience</li>
<li>A solid grounding in Computer Science fundamentals</li>
<li>Deftness at object-oriented design and systems architecture for mobile devices and wireless systems</li>
<li>Solid coding practices including good design documentation, unit testing, peer code-reviews, and a preference for agile methods</li>
<li>Robust project planning/execution skills including; estimating, scheduling and executing on committed schedules</li>
<li>Excellent judgment, organizational and problem solving skills; technical, project and personnel</li>
<li>Exceptional interpersonal communication skills; verbal, written, listening, including customer relationships</li>
<li>Strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive</li>
<li>Passion for building new mobile products in a fast paced, team-oriented environment<span id="_marker"><span id="_marker"> </span></span></li>
